FAST FACTS FOR JOB SEEKERS
By Vacancies In Malawi (VIM) on 04/05/2017 at 12:45pm (UTC)
 Meanings, Definitions and other details.

1. Salary: N/A

What does Salary: N/A mean?

The characters N/A (sometimes n/a) are an abbreviation that is mainly used in information tables. It stands for one of the following: (On Vacancies particularly);

(a). Not Available:

Where there exists a lack of data, in this case, when an advert is given, salary range data is left out. It also means a temporary unavailability of that piece of data (although Grades may be used to describe such a particular part). For example, the employer will hide the part and the information is not yet available, it is usually expressed with N/A. In Microsoft Excel, the function NA() or special entry #N/A may be used.

(b). Not Applicable:

Where two or more elements are not compatible, it is said the resulting data is not applicable. For example, in a sport results table, where all teams are columns and rows, those cells which would show a team versus itself are usually marked with a symbol or with N/A.

(c). No Answer:

Refers to something that has no known or available answer. On the Vacancies we post on platforms like Vacanciesinmalawi.page.tl, Myjobo, Human Capital Solutions Limited and other websites, this part when indicated, it implies that there is no answer when you ask how much Salary would be given to an employee on that particular vacancy advert.

(d). Not Announced:

As in the title isn't announced yet.

(e). Naturally Aspirated:

An internal combustion engine devoid of forced induction methods.

(f). Not Assessed:

Refers to the topic not being assessed.

(g). Not Active:

Referred to something that was planned, but is no longer in effect.

You may find N/A in many areas, but apply the knowledge you have.

2. MUST HAVE EMAIL

Having an email address as a job seeker, you will easily apply for jobs that have email addresses only. Be it a secretary post, cleaner, guard, or any other job opening. Go internet cafe where you have problems.

3. FOLLOW WHAT THE EMPLOYER WANTS

Many job seekers fall in the trap of dropping applications by hand but an email address has been given together with contact numbers. Don't be a victim of falling into such a trap. Follow what's on the advert.

4. DON'T ASK FOR THINGS THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE ADVERT.

The best thing to do is to read carefully all the adverts that are available to get the information as right. Take your time.

5. JOB DEADLINES

On other vacancy adverts, we put; Job Deadline, Closing date, End of Business, Close of Business and Final date... They all mean the same thing as Job Deadline for the date indicated is the closing date. And normally, the date closes at 23: 59hours (11:59pm) of that particular date.
