Systems Analyst (Grade LC8)
Reporting to the Principal Systems Analyst, the Systems Analyst shall be responsible for the provision and management of IT Services to the Commission.
Qualification
A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology or Management Information Systems or Computer Studies with at least two years of relevant experience.
Principal Duties Include
Analyzing, designing, programming and testing new programs;
Developing and maintaining databases;
Producing various reports as may be required from time to time by users;
Providing technical assistance and user support; managing helpdesk system; ensuring availability of printers on the network, maintenance of hardware such as router, switches, PCs and printers; and hardware inventory;
Ensuring the Security of ICT Systems, equipment and Software;
Software installations; supporting off-shelf software and in-house software, including managing the antivirus system;
Administration of Linux and Windows servers;
Managing the automated backup system and ensuring its effectiveness;
Developing training materials and procedures and training users on the effective use of computers and software;
Providing network support such as sorting local area connection problems, including wireless links; and
Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.
