| Malawi Institute of Tourism is a leading tourism and hospitality training and educational Institution in Malawi. The Institute also runs three application hotels namely Alendo Hotel in Blantyre, Lingadzi Inn in Lilongwe and Mzuzu Lodge.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who are self driven, have high integrity to fill the position of Finance and Administration Manager.
Purpose of the Job
To provide overall financial policy direction and management of financial resources.
To provide policy guidance in administrative and human resource issues for effective and efficient delivery of services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, key duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Formulating , implementing and monitoring short term and long term financial strategies;
Developing plans, programmes, projects and budgets based on priorities within resources allocated;
Facilitating budgets preparation, and expenditure reporting and producing periodic financial reports;
Advising MIT management on investment opportunities;
Formulating human resource and administrative policies, procedures, standards and regulations;
Designing and implementing performance management system and facilitating periodic performance appraisals;
Drafting in liaison with relevant experts, contracts for employees and service providers and managing service provider contracts.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have a minimum qualification of a Bachelors Degree preferably in Business Administration or related disciplines in Accounting such as ICAM, ACCA, CIMA and ECAMA plus a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) plus Five (5) years’ in an accounting environment at Senior level.
Contract period and Remuneration Package
The successful candidate shall be offered a performance related contract for a period of three (3) years renewable subject to satisfactory work performance with an attractive salary, benefits and gratuity package commensurate with qualification and experience.
