Key Responsibilities

Preparation of audit schedules for external and internal audits;
Assist in preparing detailed variance analysis reports;

Qualification and Experience

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of daily cash position
Preparation of payment vouchers for creditors and medical deductions
Receive and verify invoices, requisitions and goods received notes for goods/services
Effectively carry out Revenue, Transit and Creditors accounts reconciliations
Posting of invoices, expenditures, investments, loans deduction and money transfers in SAP ERP system in accordance with relevant accounting standards
Prepare cash books and cash controls and capturing of cash controls into IFMIS for government accounts
Collect revenue figures from Stations on daily basis and submit report to team leader timely
Ensure that terminal benefits for ex- employees are timely prepared and all loans are recovered in line with relevant polices and statutes
Preparation of audit schedules for external and internal audits
Prepare appropriate journal vouchers to post adjustments to accounting records
Any other duties as assigned by management;

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and issuance of cheques to third parties
Receipt of revenue and cash on a daily basis and timely banking of all cash receipts
Prepare and submit revenue report to Station Supervisor and Head Office
Follow up with bank through the Station Supervisor of any discrepancy found in the course of daily reconciliation
Prepare monthly cash book and submit electronically to head office
Prepare revenue returns on a daily basis and forward to station supervisor for certification before dispatching to head office fortnightly
Ensure that accounts documents are filed properly and record all security documents in register and keep under lock and key
Accounting for Station imprest and inventory including fuel stocks
Ensuring that the authority’s laid down Cash Office procedures are followed
Perform any other duties assigned by superiors

Purpose of the Position

Specific duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Apply knowledge of driving skills in urban and rural terrain and difficult situation such as inclement weather conditions and heavy traffic.
Drive staff, partners and consultants.
Responsible for daily maintenance and cleaning of vehicle and report any fault to the Transport and Maintenance Officer.
Safe keeping of all motor vehicle records (log book) recorded at all times and any other related document.
Adheres to rules and regulations applicable to MRCS vehicle operations and to Road Traffic regulations.

Qualifications and Education

Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent; and a holder of a valid SADC Driving License of code D1, C or above; and those with Defensive Driving Certificate will have added advantage.

Programme Manager

Place of Work: MRCS Headquarters, Lilongwe.

Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Head of Health, the Programme Manager will be responsible for initiating and managing the Integrated Community Based Health Care Project being implemented in Mzimba and Salima districts. The Programme Manager is the counterpart to the SWISS Red Cross in-country delegate, and the budget holder for the programme.

The Key Responsibilities and Duties

Specifically, the activities to be corned out shall include but not limited to the following:

Monitoring programme development and determining strategic opportunities at district and notional levels, co-ordinating closely with the Malawi Red Cross Society, Head of Health, Field Staff and Stakeholders.
Contribute to the execution of MRCS strategic plan especially with regards to Health and Care, First Aid and Blood Disaster Management and Humanitarian Diplomacy.
Assist the District Project Officers in developing strong relationship with District Stakeholders and in the development of appropriate advocacy actions.
In close collaboration with the delegate counterpart, and under guidance of the Head of Health provide overall leadership and management, ensuring that the programme is managed in line with the project document and in compliance with MRCS and SRC regulations.
Ensure programme implementation is managed through the rigorous use of structures, updated work plans, spending plans, indicator tracking sheets and approved monitoring & evaluation tools.
Compile programme activity reports as part of MRCS and SRC requirements.
Provide quarterly (or needs based) technical supportive supervision to District Project Officers to ensure effective and high standard delivery of the programme activities.
In collaboration with Accountants ensure that effective budgeting, control and monitoring of the project expenditures against plans and that well-structured corrective action is initiated and tracked where required.

Qualifications and experience

Required

Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Social Science or Community Development
At least 5 years’ experience in project management.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet

Desirable

Master’s Degree in public Health, Social or community Development
Experience in Research methodologies
Strong skills in program monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
Experience working with NG0s.
Competencies

Good leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to profile his/her scope of work and attract donors/ partners thereby mobilizing resources through programming.

Project Accountant

Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Programme Accountant, the Project Accountant is responsible for technical budget preparation, and for accounting and financial reporting of MRCS Integrated Community Based Health Project Funds at district level in line with generally accepted accounting standards, MRCS and SRC policies, project contract and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Processing various payments for the projects, for example Petty Cash, Bank and Working advance, payment requests for both cash and cheque payments.
Reconciliation of working advances and preparation of monthly and annual financial reports as part of the reporting cycle of the National Society consistent with MRCS and SRC requirements in line with the Project Agreement Document, Management
Maintenance and update of fixed assets register ensuring appropriate, accurate and complete accounting for fixed assets.
Coaching and advising of project staff on financial matters affecting their project.
Participate in preparations for annual audits and providing auditors with information during the audit process.
Required Educational Background

Diploma in Accounting, or its equivalent from a reputable institution.
Three years’ experience in donor funded projects and Financial reporting
Good Computer skills – MS Excel, Word, Internet
