Department Overview
Pact exists to help create a world where those who are poor and marginalized exercise their voice, build their own solutions, and take ownership of their own solutions and take ownership of their future.
Administration, contributes to realizing this purpose by:
Providing Support to all staff including maintaining a dean organized and professional office space;
Operation and management of Pact vehicles;
Provision of support to the procurement and management of assets and supplies.
The administration team’s contributions create a safe and welcoming operating environment for the entire Pact Malawi team.
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Governance & CB Specialist, the Driver responsible for safe transport of Pact Malawi staff and ensuring the vehicles are properly maintained and kept in good repair.
Key Responsibilities
Will operate and maintain project vehicles in good working order with focus on roadworthiness, safety and compliance with the law;
Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, check functionality;
Maintain cleanliness and performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary;
Ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance, repairs, insurance and licensing is completed timely and reported;
Providing other logistical support services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation service;
Maintain a neat personal appearance and polite demeanor as prescribed by professional and local standards;
Perform simple office tasks as assigned from time to time, such as placing phone calls, taking messages, making photocopies, collating and organizing reports, picking up and delivery of mail in the absence of or together with the Office Assistant.
Basic Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing;
Ability to establish effective professional relationships and maintain customer courtesy with visitors, co-workers, and upper level management and employees.
Extensive knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s);
Should have the ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately and should be familiar with the road Laws of Malawi;
Preferred Qualifications
Mature Driver with over 10 years professional experience in projects, with a valid, accident free and endorsement free Driving license.
A Malawi School Certificate of Examination;
A Defensive Driving license will be an added advantage.
