position:
ACCOUNTANT
The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative accountant and will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources and administration. The position of Accountant at Exploits University is a middle management position and highly demanding position reporting directly to the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM).
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the FAM; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes.
Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
Prepare and reconcile bank statements
Ensure transact ions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system
Wage and Salary Administration
Monitoring of the petty cash and bank balances to ensure sufficient funds are always available depending on the organizational needs.
Establish and manage all procurement and logistics activities Regulatory Compliant to Malawi National Laws
Supervision o f all accounts staff
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent obtained from well recognized institution. Those with ACCA shall have added advantage,
At least 5 years of experience working in a similar position
Excellent Analytical, interpersonal Organizational, Computer Skills
Must be flexible, disciplined, professional and regulatory compliant
Must possess a good driving record and a valid driver’s license
