ICT MANAGER

 Dignitas International (DI), medical and research organization has supported care for people with HIV related conditions in the Malawi’s South East Zone (SEZ) of Malawi since 2004. Since 2010, with the support of USAID Malawi and working with the Ministry of Health (MoH), DI has greatly expanded quality HIV testing, care and treatment for people with HIV and related conditions throughout SEZ through HIV-focused health system strengthening activities support. DI has been engaged in pursuing opportunities to sustain and continue the project beyond its current project cycle, and has been able to secure probable funding starting in October 2016. The follow-on project entitled, Innovative HIV Services for Malawi’s Achievement Of 90-90-90, will be funded by USAID through a regional funding mechanism called EQUIP.

Job Purpose

ICT Manager is responsible for all ICT for Dignitas Zomba project and leads the ICT team. He/she is responsible for development and implementation of an ICT roadmap for Dignitas Malawi and offers strategic advice on IT software and hardware to accommodate organizational effectiveness in collaboration with Key staff in DI HQ. He/ she ensure all ICT equipment and services are available and operational. He/she is the overall responsible for ICT Budget and Workplan development, implementation and monitoring. The ICT Manager is a member of the Country Management Team (CMT).

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the performance of the IT staff and correct usage of IT equipment and software for all DI staff
Advises on ICT strategic issues in relation to IT equipment, software etc
Responsible for effective management of IT assets and consumables
Identify yearly Departmental objectives and coordinate Department Planning exercises
Participate in Annual and Strategic Planning, as well as Quarterly Reviews
Provide input on IT matters for proposal and report writing for donors
Assist in budget development, implementation & spending plans and budget monitoring relating to IT expenses and activities
Ensure regular and continuous back-up of organizational data
Ensures access control as guided by the IT policies
Ensures Installation, maintenance and repair of hardware and software related to Internet connections are properly done
Facilitates User support in offices and clinics as requested
Responsible for the setup & maintenance of telephone hardware and software (Exchange, wiring, phones).
Manage relationship with service providers (MTL, TMN, Zain)

Qualifications •

Degree in Computer Sciences or IT related.
Working knowledge of networking
At least two years of experience in ICT management required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to lead others

Install, maintain and repair hardware and software related to Internet connections • Set up & maintenance of eMail user accounts on GMail
Email configuration on computers (Outlook)
Manages the server and domain
Install, maintain and repair (including relationship with external technicians carrying out repairs) all Dignitas computer hardware and software (Windows, Office, Antivirus and user specific software)
Manage antivirus protection
Assist with weekly (or as needed) back-up of files.

Qualifications

Minimum college Diploma in ICT
3 years work experience with computer networking, systems and repairs.

Qualifications

Training: Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration.
Work experience: 2 years minimum experience as a secretary, receptionist or administrative assistant.
Linguistic Competence: Must have excellent command of the English and Chichewa languages including writing and reading
