Job Summary
As part of its strategic growth, a new role has risen within the organisation for Marketing and Business Development Officer. The successful applicant will help to devise, develop and deliver a comprehensive strategic tactical plan for membership growth, income generating activities and awareness for Institute of Bankers.
To coordinate these activities, IOB is looking for a self-motivated person with proven track record of Business Development, Marketing and Communication.
The Marketing & Business Development Officer will report directly to the Manager, Education & Training. The vacancy is tenable in Blantyre.
Key Performance Areas
Developing and implementing programs for renewing annual membership of current members and attracting new members within target groups based on the membership model.
Engaging in member connection to ensure the professional network, content and communication elements are meeting member needs.
Establishing, executing and monitoring short and long-range goals to achieve organizational membership growth objectives and managing assigned budgets.
Interacting with other professional associations to benchmark and learn strategies that can be applied in order to deliver member value.
Evaluating effectiveness and appropriateness of dues and membership category structures, services, materials, benefits, and policies relating to retention of current members and acquisition of new members, and recommend changes to attain goals.
Marketing the Institute of Bankers in order to raise its profile.
Identify other revenue generating activities to ensure continual growth.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Relevant Degree in Business and Marketing related fields.
At least 5 years’ experience working in Business Development and Marketing, must include a portfolio of income generating projects within business development.
Knowledge and Skills
A strong understanding of membership database systems and have experience in managing a large membership with diverse categories.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Project Management skills.
Excellent negotiating skills.
Ability to motivate and interact effectively with members.
Ability to research, analyze and define current market trends.
