COMMUNICATION AND PROMOTION OFFICER (CPO)

 DAPP Malawi is a non-governmental nonprofit making organization that works with communities in Malawi by promoting social and economic development in the country within the areas of education hereunder vocational skills training, health, agriculture & food security and community development.

DAPP Malawi seeks to recruit a qualified, experienced and dynamic person to work as a Communication and Promotion Officer (CPO) to be based at its National Partnership Office in Lilongwe.

POSITION SUMMARY AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The applicant will be required to produce promotion materials for DAPP Malawi Partners using various channels such as social media, print and online drivers as per the organization guidelines

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Write and design layout of DAPP Malawi publication materials and other documents for internal and external use with professionalism.
Develop key promotional messages
Work and create mutual relationship with the print and electronic media in promoting DAPP Malawi contribution to the country’s development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Interest applicants must conform to the following:

A Minimum Diploma in Social Science/ Mass communication/ ICT. Those with higher qualifications will have an added advantage
At least 3 years of professional work experience in designing and executing communication activities, preferably in development programme.
If shortlisted, you will be required to bring your previous designs as part of your interviews.
A good command in one of the designing packages e.g. CoreIDRAW Graphics Suite, Adobe Photoshop, In-design, etc.
Proficient in working with online media — from web site administration, facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp etc,
Ability to work in a team and often times tight deadlines in a dynamic and expeditiously work environment
Very good command of both written and spoken English
Knowledge of and experience with media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media.
Experience with communication and media companies will be added advantage
It is an advantage being experienced in taking quality photos
Ability to create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products.
Proficient in use of all Microsoft applications related to the tasks.
Experience of working with local NGOs, INGOs and government bodies would be an advantage.

CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER

 Job Description

The position assumes that there are other security officers in place and will have to partner with the Human Resource Manager in all of his undertakings that include the following:

To supervise, ensure all security officers are in their assigned places, arrange all the shifts, off-duty, leave, etc.
To serve in leadership role for security compliance.
To ensure security officers patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
To ensure security officers enforce appropriate security checks.
To undertake the surveillance.
To monitor alarms and closed-circuit TV cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
To ensure perpetrators are apprehended.
Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
Any other duties as assigned by seniors.

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience as security officer at least 10 years experience in a similar or as a policeman in the MDF or other.
Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
Good working skills on surveillance, observations and judgement.
Minimum academic is MSCE.

Microsoft SQL Server-2012, MySOL and Apache Server Administration

Must have knowledge Learning Management Systems such as Moodie
