| | CCAP Synod of Blantyre will soon open its University starting with Master of Arts in Theology and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management and Marketing. The Council for University of Blantyre Synod (UBS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancy:
Finance Officer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Preparation and monitoring of annual budgeting and planning process and reviewing all financial plans.
Timely production of Financial Statements
Coordinating and leading in the annual audit process
Implementing all necessary business policies, accounting procedures and practices.
Assessing the procurement needs of for the University.
Ensuring Taxation Act compliance and timely remittance of taxes.
Advising management on existing business/investment opportunities.
The Person The ideal candidate should have:
A university Degree in Accounting with professional qualification such as ACCA and CIMA, An MBA in Finance or related field will have added advantage.
At least 5 years of experience in a reputable organization especially in higher education institutions.
Strong financial expertise and familiarity with management and accounting practices at management level
Proven experience in designing, implementing and monitoring financial control systems
Excellent knowledge of accounting packages preferable Sage and ability to set up accounting systems
High level of interpersonal and management skills.
