| PSI Malawi is a member of PSI international who is a global health organization dedicated to improving the health of people in the developing world by focusing on serious challenges like a lack of family planning, HIV and AIDS, barriers to maternal health, and the greatest threats to children under five, including malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition.
PSI Malawi is therefore inviting applications from qualified, experienced and result oriented persons to urgently fill the following vacant position:
Procurement Coordinator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure proper contracts and purchase order management
Ensure effective procurement and inventory planning
Ensure maintenance of consistent logistical supply chain management
Supervise Procurement staff
Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance
Ensure the right systems and processes
Manage vendor relationships
Ensure effective preparation of local purchase orders (LPOs)
Draft, for review, procurement contracts and professional service contracts
Monitor and track Procurements and shipments.
Set time limits for supplies and deliveries
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
First Degree in Purchasing & Supply/Business Administration/Finance/Economics/Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supply with 3 years’ experience in procurement
Good experience in procurement management and understanding environment of the cooperating partners, health public sector, NGOs and private sector.
SKILL & KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of Malawi Public Procurement Act and Regulations
Clear understanding of the Social-Economic fabric of the Country
Good grasp of the cause and impact of HIV/AIDS
Good grasp of current issues pertaining to Malaria and Child Survival , Reproductive Health and other Social Health issues in Malawi
Have to understand difference donor requirements and procedures
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Risk analysis (need to understand the rules and regulations, policies and procedures)
Understanding of Internal controls, continuous assessment and introducing new ones
Innovative ways of closing the loop on fraud and unethical dilemma
Be self-starter, effective team player and demonstrated verifiable result-oriented track record
