| Finance/Administrative Associate
Background
The primary purpose of this program is to provide management support to USAID’s Malawi Scholarship Program (MSP) for Malawi professionals to pursue certificate, diploma/undergraduate and Master’s degree programs at universities in the United States, South Africa, Kenya and other Africa regional countries including training institutions within Malawi. The in-country portion of the MSP seeks to place 766 participants in certificate, diploma/first degree and Advanced Degree programs in Malawi in various health fields, such as Nursing, Family Planning/Reproductive Health, Midwifery, Food Science/Human Nutrition, and Pharmacy Assistant. The US and third-country (Africa region) program is placing 33 participants in Master’s degree programs in Public Health, Child Health, Neonatal Health, Family Planning/ Reproductive Health, and Nutrition.
World Learning seeks a Finance/Administrative Associate for the USAID-funded “Malawi Scholarship Program (MSP).”
Duration: 2 years.
Location: Lilongwe, Malawi.
This position will report to the Finance Manager and supports both the Finance and Program teams.
Responsibilities
Assist Finance Manager in responding to financial reporting requirements.
Assist in implementing a system for documentation control and filing.
Scanning large volumes of supporting documentation and transmitting the same to Home Office
Other activities as required by the Finance ‘Team, including data entry, scanning documents, etc.
Assist with office administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years relevant office experience.
Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentations).
Strong interpersonal, coordination and project management skills.
Strong written and oral communications.
Team player, able to work respectfully and cooperatively with colleagues.
Three years of practical experience in working with USAID or other donor-funded training and development programs, in a finance capacity highly desirable.
Knowledge of Procurement processes
Knowledge of Quick Books accounting system is a must.
