SACCO MANAGER

 SACCO Manager
Malawi Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (MUSCCO) has been mandated by one of its affiliates Sunbird SACCO to recruit a SACCO Manager. MUSCCO is looking for energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic persons who wish to pursue a carrier in cooperatives development to fill the position of SACCO Manager reporting to SACCO Board of Directors through the Board Chairperson.

The Manager will be responsible for day to day operations of the SACCO to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of financial services to members and growth of the SACCO.

Key responsibilities for the position

The successful candidate will have the following key duties and responsibilities among others:

Manage day to day financial operations of the SACCO based on policies, procedures as approved by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Manage staff and ensure high productivity.
Prepare and Implement strategic plans, yearly business plans for Board’s approval.
Manage assets and liabilities of the SACCO to attain desired yields from members’ savings, shares, deposits, loans and investments.
Ensure delivery of quality services to Members
Timely review of internal controls and their effectiveness
Provide timely SACCO operations and administrative reports to Board of Directors.
Prepare, manage and attend to SACCO committees meetings and other SACCO scheduled meetings.
Ensure the SACCO’s compliance to industry and regulatory standards as set by the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Provide information to the Board of Directors, committees and staff regarding strategic direction of the SACCO with a view to grow business.
The Person

The ideal candidate should have:

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics or Banking. Those with ACCA OR CIMA are also encouraged to apply.
At least 5 years post qualification experience in a financial institution at Managerial level involved in planning, product development, credit management, budgeting and reporting.
A good grasp of the financial industry in Malawi, regulatory framework and current issues affecting the industry in general.
Drive to grow business, results oriented, excellent communication, verifiable track record, analytical and high level interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of finance, human resource management and general marketing of financial services/products.
A good understanding of accounting software packages and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Timotheos Foundation is a Christian Charity in Malawi which is registered with all relevant stakeholders. Most of our programs target OVCs and their guardians although others outside these target groups also benefit as part of CSRs. However, urgent need has been raised by our stakeholders around our Child Care Centres (Day Care Centres) to uplift the educational standards through Junior Primary Schools in these institutions whereby teacher pupil ratio and teacher delivery of lessons will be monitored closely for better quality results. Duties and responsibilities

Well experienced in teaching primary school pupils of standards 1 to 4.
Preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans from approved curriculum.
Examining of learners, marking in time and timely production of school reports.
Participation in teachers’ meetings and/or any other meetings as required by the school management for the smooth running of the institution.
Being innovative in bringing forward brilliant ideas and knowledge to fatten the approved curriculum.
Teaching Bible knowledge in a reformed manner as well as being a spiritual advisor to the learners and members of staff.
Requirements

He must possess an MSCE or its equivalent
He must have relevant Biblical qualification (s) from a reputable Reformed Seminary
He must be a Malawian who speaks good English and Chichewa
He must be between 30-40 years of age, and
He must be experienced, mature, presentable, well-behaved, sober and exemplary to the learners, staff and the communities as whole.
Candidates must be prepared to work in remote areas of Malawi.

Remuneration is negotiable to commensurate with what is currently on offer at the job market. Take note that only shortlisted candidates will be acknowledged.
