Duties and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, the Accounts Clerk will be responsible for:

Maintenance of the cashbook in the Sage Pastel Evolution system
Maintenance of petty cash
Making payments
Maintenance of receipt books
Banking transactions.
Maintenance of the accounting filing system and ensuring that all payment vouchers have supporting documents.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Academic Qualifications, Experience and Skills

At least an Accounting Diploma
At least 2 years of relevant experience
Should be computer literate and having good written and verbal communication skills.
Being conversant with Sage Pastel Evolution accounting software will be an added advantage

BLM exists to improve quality of life in Malawi through family planning and reproductive health care services. BLM serves over 800,000 clients annually and makes a significant contribution to national family planning objectives. Job Purpose

The administrative assistant will be responsible for supporting the Programs Manager and team leaders by handling routine office tasks , the traffic of documents, correspondence and logistics related to ( including travel and accommodation bookings) as well as the organization of meetings



Assists in updating the Programs Manager diary and calendar while drawing attention to all major impending commitments
Responds to enquiries from external parties;
Reviews routine or non-routine documents/ correspondences distinguishing between unimportant and important requests before they are passed to the Programs Manager, or if appropriate in a summary form;
Ensures that areas of the office where meetings will be held by the Programs Manager and project team are in a proper physical state;
Files all correspondence in a manner that makes them easy to retrieve;
Ensures that there is total confidentiality in all matters resting in the office of the Programs Manager
Prepares, edits and dispatches documents as requested by the Programs Manager
Organizes specific meetings to be presided over or attended by the Programs Manager and project team
Assists in arranging the venue, refreshments or food for any BLM meetings or trainings at the request of the Senior Programme Manager or Program Manager
Runs specific official errands on behalf of the Programs Manager from time to time.
In general, carry out such tasks as will bring order, accuracy and speed in the work at the Zomba office
Makes travel and accommodation reservations for visiting staff from BLM Support Office, Board members and official BLM visitors from various parts of the MSI Global Partnership
Liaises with service providers and other staff members ensuring timely payment of office utilities to avoid disruptions
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of Diploma in any of the following areas: Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or Secretarial Studies
At least two (2) years of experience in an NGO preferably in similar role.
Knowledge and Skills.

Team player
Proficient in operation of different office machines in addition to total mastery of Microsoft Office applications like Word.
Have excellent English and communication skills.
Be a mature, self starter that is focused on results with good attention to detail.
Be highly organised, able to work under pressure and apply different operating procedures or policies

Making container bookings with Shipping Lines and drafting Shipping Instructions.
Container tracking with Port Agents to ensure up to date position of Export shipments.
Dispatching general exports to various destinations on time to ensure targets are met.
Keep Clients informed on status of their shipments.
Ensure that Target Vessels are met
Export Customs Entries are submitted in a timely manner and thereafter distributed as necessary for efficient movement of Cargo.
Preparing cheque requisitions for paying transporters or shipping line invoices.
Compiling exports statistics and Monthly Operational Reports
Any other duties assigned by the line manager from time to time.
Qualifications - Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Diploma by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport from a recognized Institute • At least five years working experience managing people and finance • At least three years minimum in shipping operations. Applicants accredited by MRA for proficiency in customs clearing will have an added advantage.

Dignitas International (DI), medical and research organization has supported care for people with HIV related conditions in the Malawi’s South East Zone (SEZ) of Malawi since 2004. Since 2010, with the support of USAID Malawi and working with the Ministry of Health (MoH), DI has greatly expanded quality HIV testing, care and treatment for people with HIV and related conditions throughout SEZ through HIV-focused health system strengthening activities support. The Senior Study Coordinator (SSC) is responsible for responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Key Population study. He/she reports to the Qualitative Researcher and has a technical reporting line to the study principal investigator (PI).
He/she will also work closely with all other study investigators.
The overall aim of is to understand the role of peer supporters in key populations-centred interventions, in the context of test and treat in Malawi.

The core responsibilities of the SSC include:

managing ethics processes, developing content related to the study and managing the project including budgets and grant reporting data,
overseeing the implementation of the intervention, data collection, reporting, training of research assistants and data collectors,
liaising with data management and data analysis, and dealing with issues arising during the course of a study project.
The SSC is expected to take part in the data collection, analysis and dissemination of studies. Key aspects of this position include the ability to work closely with the rest of the research and program teams, managing study issues, and ensuring that project is completed on time and within the budget.
Qualifications

Master’s in Public Health, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, or equivalent experience
Minimum two years of proven experience in managing research projects, preferably in HIV/AIDS
Familiarity with the Malawi Ministry of Health ART program is an asset
Strong report writing skills, ability to present data and findings clearly
Demonstrated ability in the use of qualitative and quantitative methods and management and analysis of large datasets
Significant experience in annual planning, grant management, project budgeting and donor reporting in a range of formats
Strong organizational management and development skills
Computer proficiency with MS Office and research analysis software (NVivo)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chichewa
Professional drive and ability to manage tight timelines and potentially stressful, shifting priorities and deadlines
