Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Basic Studies Department, the main purpose of the job is to support the implementation of practical aspects of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Setting up reagents, specimens and tools
Carrying out experimental trials
Maintaining stores stocks orders
Drafting practical procedures manual
Maintaining and standardising equipment
Conducting practical demonstrations
Training staff and students in the use of equipment, machines and tools
Preparing reports

Education and Qualifications

Applicants must have relevant Diploma and three years’ experience.
Those with relevant experience in Higher Education institutions will have an added advantage.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (LINKAGES)

 Pakachere Institute of Health and Development Communication is one of the leading local health and development communication NGOs in Malawi. Its mission is to empower Malawians, particularly the vulnerable, to choose and sustain healthy behaviors.

Pakachere IHDC is implementing LINKAGES, a project supported by USAID through FHI 360. The aim of the project is to reduce HIV transmission among key populations and improve the quality of life of key populations living with HIV. Pakachere therefore invites suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer under the LINKAGES project tenable in Blantyre.

Job Description

Department/ Program: LINKAGES Project

Reports to: Programme Manager

Remuneration: As per organization pay scale

Job Summary

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide support to the LINKAGES team in managing of the performance monitoring plan and reporting against the plan and supporting monthly and quarterly LINKAGES reporting requirements. The position will be responsible for the designing, developing and maintaining monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures for the project and providing M &E technical assistance to the team. She/he will report to the Programme Manager.

Specifically the M&E Officer will;

Implement and monitor DHIS2 M&E system to achieve programmatic goals.
Coordinate collection of program activity data to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness in Blantyre and Mangochi districts
Perform analysis of data and information collected from the project monthly and quarterly to examine trends and identify gaps and provide feedback to the program team
Conduct regular reviews of the data to enable the team to identify whether targets are being met and take immediate corrective actions so to strengthen the programme
Work closely with the District Coordinators, Peer Educators and Peer Navigators to monitor implementation of the project and provide timely feedback
Orient all project staff on data collection tools and make any changes to improve their use as and when required;
Assist District Coordinators in preparing reports and track performance against pre-agreed key populations’ specific service targets;
Test system changes and upgrades where necessary by inputting new data; reviewing output.
Secure information by completing data base backups.
Attend all meetings that may be required at district and national level;
Advise and promote best practices in monitoring and evaluation
Support any other monitoring, evaluation and reporting duties identified over the life of the project.

Requirements

Minimum of three years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation with substantial experience in health management information systems;
Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics, Social science, Applied Mathematics or related fields
Proficiency in use of at least 2 of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Stata, and MS Access.
Proven record of innovation in database design and data management
Experience working with DHIS 2 and key populations will be an added advantage.

LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Objective of the post

Supervising the daily supply and logistics activities and overseeing the maintenance of MSF equipment, assets. facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in seamless conditions.

Major responsibilities include, but are not logistics limited to the following:

1) Supply

Drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in place
Makes local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and maintaining required administrative documentation
Managing stores and keeping safe of all stocks under his responsibility.
Managing fuel pump and filling of vehicles humanitarian organisation and related machines.
2) Support Maintenance

Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards
Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities and evaluating the rehabilitation needs
3) Logistics

Monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical devices /machines & vehicle
Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles
Keeping inventory of all the projects assets

Required Qualities

Previous NGO experience of at least 1 year in a supervision position in supply and logistics
Willing to work in a remote area of Malawi — Nsanje
MSCE Certificate
Fluent in English written and spoken
Excellent IT knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point.
