HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or Social Science

-Must have at least five years working experience in general human resources management in a busy and challenging work environment.

- Must be computer literate in word, excel, power point

- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

- Must have good supervisory skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Rendering appropriate advisory and consultancy service on Employment Law, company’s terms and conditions of employment to the line departments

- Complying with HR Policies and procedures in all HR service delivery

- Recruiting, selecting and induction of employees as per set company policies

- Coordinating management and union consultative meetings

- Coordinating disciplinary and grievance procedures by ensuring that all processes are in line with the Illovo’s Disciplinary Code, local Labour legislation and ILO conventions

- Preparing weekly and monthly HR reports

- Implementing effective safety systems by conducting monthly behavioral safety audits, reporting near miss accidents and participating in departmental safety meeting

- Taking part in Continuous Improvement activities by coming up with PIPs and other related activities.

PSI Malawi is therefore inviting applications from qualified, experienced and result oriented persons to urgently fill the following vacant position:

Audit and Compliance Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

- Review the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information through review of automated systems and enforcement of maintenance of complete and authentic documentation

- Ascertain that PSI Malawi assets are safeguarded by ensuring that PSI has adequate controls for safeguarding assets and verifying their existence where appropriate

- Review PSI/Malawi policies, donor and legal compliance (Government Laws and regulations)

- Provide consultancy on Policy and other regulatory compliance matters.

- Ensure new employees and Management are oriented on PSI Malawi core values.

- Conduct quarterly training /refreshers for continuing employees and Management of PSI/Malawi on Core values

- Conduct regular audits of financial controls and management system.

- Conduct special audits (reviews) to identify any data error, unaccountable transactions, faulty or inefficient processes.

- Monitor the implementation status of recommendations made by PSI internal audit team, PSI’s Global Internal Auditors, donor auditors, financial statement external auditors, and other audit recommendations

- Evaluate PSI Malawi Risk assessment during audit engagement and support monitoring compliance with risk management activities.

- Attend stock counts as an independent person and petty cash count verifications

- Perform investigations into suspected frauds.

Qualification & Experience

- Degree in Finance/Auditing along with computer literacy for spreadsheets and word processing, preferably advance excel spread sheets.

- With 3 years of audit working experience.

Skills and Competencies.

- Have an understand of different donor requirements and procedures.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Understanding of Internal controls, continuous assessment and introducing new ones.

- Innovative ways of closing the loop on fraud and unethical dilemma.

- Be self-starter, effective team player and demonstrated verifiable result-oriented track record.

- Good experience in auditing and understanding environment of cooperating partners.

International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) is seeking a Finance and Grants Manager to be responsible for establishing and maintaining efficient administrative systems and procedures to support the smooth running of IFAW operations in Malawi and Zambia, and to ensure compliance with any grant agreement and IFAW policies and procedures. The Finance and Grants Manager is responsible for project accounting functions for funded projects. This position has a direct reporting relationship to the IFAW Malawi Chief of Party and indirect reporting relationship to the Grants and Compliance Manager based in the United States.

Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience in administration of grants
Experience managing a financial and/or grants component of a US Government funded program
Knowledge of the international conservation and development funding field desirable.
Demonstrated experience of the accounting/finance/administrative area.
Strong English communication skills.
Masters-level education/training or equivalent experience in Finance and Business Management or related technical fields.
