Responsibilities

Minimum requirements

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Development Director, the VSL Officer will be responsible for facilitating VSL activities ensuring both economic and spiritual growth for the members.

Specific Functions

Facilitate community mobilization and sensitization on VSL programme.
Group formation and training of groups in VSL methodology.
Monitoring of groups, collection of data and uploading of data in MIS.
Identification and training of VSL community trainers.
Assist groups in identifying income generating activities.
Train VSL members in business management.
Submission of monthly reports,
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Development director.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Business Management/Community Development from a credible Academic institution. Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field will have distinct advantage.
3 years minimum experience in facilitating rural community activities, extensive knowledge of VSL, strong computer literacy and a self starter.
A practicing Christian
A pleasant personality, be between 25 and 35 years old.

WELDING SUPERVISER

Unitrans Malawi Limited, a prominent employer in the sugar logistics industry wants to recruit a suitably qualified person of Malawian origin to fill the above named vacancy tenable at its Dwangwa Depot.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, the successful person will be required among other things to:

Supervise the activities of the Welding Bay i.e. inspecting and ensuring that repairs are done to predetermined standard in order to minimize wastage of materials.
Apply health and safety rules and regulations in all aspects of the job
Must be able to repair heavy plant machinery right first time and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Regulations all the times.
Construct and repair steel and other metal components using a variety of welding techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

Must have a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE )
Grade 1 National Trade Test Certificate
Minimum of three years hands on experience in a similar position in a busy organization.
Ability to work independently, problem solving and work with little supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
