· Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents including quotations and invoices.

JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL AND QUALITY MANAGER

 Reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer.

Job purpose summary:

The Technical and Quality Manager will be responsible for all technical, quality assurance and certification concerning production and processing, ensuring that our products and services meet legal and industry standards, and customer specifications.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Operational Execution

Create work plans and audit schedules for Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment and Sustainability sections.
Responsible for audit planning and deliverables for all external audits and certifications.
Assessment and liaison with external parties and stakeholders (customers, auditors and other certifying bodies).
Management of a Quality Management System (QMS) and work plan for the continuous improvement of quality across primary and secondary production.
Monitor quality performance through scheduled and unscheduled audits, operational analysis and producing statistical reports.
Complete internal audits, ensure that audits are completed by the internal audit team, procedural and/or product failings are reported, logged and corrective actions are resolved in a timely manner
Respond to customer complaints, Food Safety queries, and liaise with certification bodies.

Data and Information

Annual audit schedule and progress against plan.
Quality

Ensure that all produce and production processes meet the specifications of customers and requirements of external food safety standards.
Work closely with the MMOL Farm Manager and Factory Manager to review and improve product quality. People and Performance Management
Responsible for the technical and quality, internal audit and sustainability teams.
Conduct quarterly performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all direct reports.
Ensure that the management team and our employees understand and comply with quality and safety and how to continuously improve the business.

Risk Management

Responsible for regular (minimum quarterly) risk assessments across primary and secondary production.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have a minimum of BSc or equivalent in an agricultural, food science or food processing related subject with a professional qualification in food safety (e.g. intermediate or advanced HACCP).
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of establishing and working within a production focused quality management system (QMS).

 Cowater International Inc. will be implementing an MNCH project in 2 Districts of Kasungu and Chitipa and is currently seeking the services of suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Drivers

The successful candidates will report to the Senior Administrative Assistant and will be based in Chitipa and Kasungu Districts.

Duties include and not limited to:

Drive In PATH vehicles to transport staff and goods to project areas, as authorized by In PATH Finance and Operations Manager or Senior Administrative Assistant,
Ensure vehicle is properly maintained and insured with valid road fitness certificate (COF) licence, etc.
Ensure a vehicle log book is kept up-to-date with kilometres travelled and purpose of trip, as well as vehicle running costs (i.e. fuel and maintenance);
Collect and deliver mail to various stakeholders, as required,
Report any fault, damages, vehicle accidents and other vehicle malfunctions as soon as they become apparent in order to allow for appropriate action;
Comply with all company rules and national road safety directions and regulations at all times for effective transportation services of the organisation; and
Any other duties assigned from time to time.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE);
Minimum 4 years’ experience driving in and familiarity with rural terrain and roads in Malawi;
Holder of valid Malawi driver’s licence and proof of good driving record;
Good communication skills both written and oral; and
High level of integrity.
Strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills in English.
