Main Duties

As a Head of department and a member of Management, he/she is to provide leadership in the Nursing section.
Ensures that Nursing and Midwifery services at the hospital are delivered according to standards of the Nurses and Midwives Council and other relevant stakeholders.

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

 The Government of Malawi through the Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development in the Youth Section has been entrusted with the responsibility of running a four (4) year AfDB project called Jobs for Youth (J4Y). The main objective of the project is to create jobs for the Malawian Youth population through Entrepreneurial Skills Development, ICT, Agriculture, Small Scale Mining and Manufacturing. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions tenable in Lilongwe;

Project Accountant

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring effective project financial management.

Key Responsibilities

The duties will include but not limited to;

Coordination of annual project budget preparation and monitoring during execution;
Monthly financial reporting including bank reconciliations;
Cash and credit transactions on daily basis within the scope of the Project Finance Manual;
Submission of disbursement requests with accompanied documents timely;
Ensuring accurate recording of project financial transactions on the timely basis in the Accounting Software; and
Compiling information for Internal and External Auditors as required.

REQUIREMENTS AND KEY COMPETENCES

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business with majors in Accounting, Auditing or equivalent. Those with a Master’s degree in Accounting, Public Finance Management will have an added advantage;
Possession of a Professional Accounting and/or Auditing qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent will be a plus.
Experience in Public Sector Project accounting, particularly donor funded operations will be a distinct advantage;
Computer literate with good command for MS office applications and ability to work in a computerized accounting environment; and
Those with an AfDB project experience have an added advantage.

Procurement Specialist

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the successful candidate shall be responsible for assisting the Project Team in identifying project materials relevant for project activities and supervising procurement process.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and processing all procurement documents of the project;
Preparing, updating and monitoring the Bank’s Procurement Plan;
Preparing bidding documents and submitting procurement documents to the Project Coordinator;
Draft standard routine correspondences relating to procurement activities/matters;
Identifying the risks and challenges associated with the identified deviations which are to be taken into consideration by the Project; and
Providing advice and procurement training on the Bank’s Rules to the Project,

REQUIREMENTS AND KEY COMPETENCIES

At least a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field;
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in project procurement,
Full understanding of the principles of project cycle and project implementation;
Competent interaction with donor agencies on issues relating to procurement, competences in the use of software applications (Word Excel); and
Those with experience in working for AfDB Projects will have an added advantage.

AGRICULTURAL PROJECT OFFICER

Rural Development Partners (RDP) was initiated in 2015 as a full-fledged Local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). It is currently being supported by Love a Village Mission of Canada to implement an integrated project in Luhomero, Mzimba North. RDP’s approach of project implementation is holistic and targets one community at a time until they are self sustaining in the following 4 priority areas: Agriculture and Food Security, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Housing/Shelter and HIV and AIDS programs. We are looking for a motivated, innovative and committed individual to take up the position of Agricultural Project Officer tenable in Ekwendeni.

ROLES OF THE POSITION

Mobilizing the community volunteers for various activities
Writing activity requests, reports and success stories
Training targeted right holders in Conservation Agriculture, Mushroom Production, and Fish Farming
Monitoring project implementation
Other duties and responsibilities reasonably delegated to them by the Executive Director.

THE PERSONS ATTRIBUTES:

Someone who is a Christian between the age of 25 & 35 years Old, and is a self-starter who is able to work under minimum supervision
Willing to work flexible hours in a rural community.

Qualifications and requirements

Should be a degree holder or its equivalent with a focus on agriculture, community development and/or natural resources.
Should have at least 3 years working experience in a similar field
Should have hands-on knowledge in conservation agriculture or foundations for farming
Should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and work well as a team
Should hold a clean Code A drivers license.

 Since 2007, the School of Agriculture for Family Independence, funded by the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, has specialized in helping small-scale farmers become self-reliant. Based on the success of the training, Children’s Brighter Future was established in 2013 to extend the reach of the training to thousands of additional farmers by training professional farm agents (Government or NGO). These two cooperating programs are being refined to assist an ever growing number of farmers and communities to become self-reliant. In order to implement these projects effectively the program would like to recruit qualified Malawians to fill the following position:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Country Office)

Interested candidates for the position must possess a University Degree in Economics or Statistics, or any related field in Social Sciences. A Master’s Degree is preferred.

Planning and organizing meetings for projects and all other stakeholders;
Providing purchasing support by preparing Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and initiating purchase orders and transactions;
Performing specialized project support duties clerical or administrative in nature which may include entering field data and running reports and databases, maintaining files, forms and other records;
Coordinating attendance and leave administration for staff;
Assisting in recruitment process of new staff; and
Making travel arrangements for staff, guests and preparing and submitting travel expenses reports.

A Diploma in Business Administration or in Human Resource Management and Development obtained from a recognized accredited institution; and
