| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Resourcing. She/he will facilitate identification of skills and capabilities required to deliver current and future work.
Facilitate leadership and management development through liaison with similar national, regional and global organizations and engagement teams to build leadership competencies
Manage and continuously improve the reward system by ensuring an appropriate mix of pay, benefits and non-pay rewards in line with the Organization’s reward principles and national legislation.
She/he will ensure payroll and reward is delivered and communicated effectively.
Develop and maintain all the HR and administrative policies, processes, administration protocols, staff handbook, procurement manual and other documentation, ensuring that they are kept up to date and in line with current legislation and best practices
Champion the design and implementation of work place policies. This will include design of gender, inclusion and HIV/ AIDS Work Place Policies.
She/he will undertake periodic participatory institutional audits in the work place, in order to improve the work environment.
S/he will also be give accurate and appropriate advice, training and support to managers to recognize, respect and enable diversity.
Provision of specialist advice and instruction to managers on employee relations issues (i.e. disciplinary, grievance, capability, bullying and harassment) in line with Policy, best practices and national legislation,
Working with legal providers as needed.
Encourage high levels of employee engagement, including through staff participation in national and global employee surveys.
Support the CEO on the team building role to ensure a sense of work satisfaction and wellness in the work environment.
Collect, collate and accurately analyses HR metrics for use within the Organization.
Oversee the procurement of goods and services; manage the logistical support for meetings and events and ensure efficient coordination of travel and associated arrangements for partners and staff; office supply management and managing vendor contracts; facility management inclusive of rentals, Cleaning, security and access and ensure efficient administrative processes and procedures are followed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
An advanced HR related degree qualification preferably at Masters level
Substantial operational experience in providing leadership in a busy and diverse HR team environment providing timely and high quality advice and work in all aspects of HR (recruitment, reward, employee relations, employment legislation, learning and development, change management, policies and processes) and an administration generalist.
Strong experience as an administrative generalist.
Strong knowledge in HR best practice and innovative new practices
Experience of leading and effectively delivering HR based projects
Strong knowledge, understanding and application of Malawian Labour laws.
KEY SKILLS
Strong interpersonal and people managements skills
Strong IT skills particularly MS Office
Experience of using HR databases, online recruitment tools and Intranets
Analytical and numeracy skills, to produce and distil accurate information
Strong communication skills in written and oral English.
