| Main duties and responsibilities
Prepare regular reviews and appropriate monitoring and evaluation plans to measure progress and achievements and ensure timely ors proper documentation and permanent follow-up of all programme activities.
Ensures the proper reporting is produced by the partner and disseminate findings as appropriate
Timely communication, coordination and collaboration with partners, setting up of relevant reports, deliverables, financial reports and tracking programme assets provided by UNHCR to ensure that they are used for intended purpose
Specifically the Assistant Livelihoods Officer will perform the following tasks:
Provide technical support to the livelihoods programme through the following actions:
Manage a livelihoods database through gathering additional necessary socio-economic data.
Participate in all field surveys that are relevant for the livelihoods programme;
Analyze livelihoods data, including correlating livelihoods with other data on social protection, health and nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene and produce reports timely,
Provide field research results to the partners and programme team on a regular basis, if this research is independently undertaken as a means for tracking progress by UNHCR Malawi on the impact of the livelihoods interventions,
Share results with other partners, local authorities and report to the national programme team.
Ensure programmatic and administrative follow-up of projects through the following tasks
Share updates with the programme team and other relevant colleagues;
Compile and submit completed project documents to the respective team for review and comments,
Support organization and implementation of field dissemination workshops, meetings and coordinating with partners and refugees,
Participate in programme implementation activities and undertake field visits to support partner for project implementation;
Support compilation of progress reports, contribute with data for the mid-term review and annual reports for the monitoring and evaluation:
Work as a team member/player within the UNHCR livelihoods team and to support other activities and promote institutional goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND WORK CONDITIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and/or Marketing, on related fields
A Master’s Degree in the relevant field would be an added advantage,
3-4 years of work experience in a similar capacity,
Willingness to learn, to innovate and be creative as part of the job.
Willingness work in rural areas, as the duty station will be in Dzaleka in Dowa district where the main livelihoods activities are to be undertaken.
Demonstrated ability to speak and write fluently in English, as well as host country language (Chichewa in particular): knowledge of other languages desirable;
Excellent computer skills (MS Office applications):
Proven ability to independently handle correspondence, work independently with strong sense of initiative, discipline and self-motivation;
A drivers license, and in particular motor cycle is essential for field purposes;
Experience in field monitoring is preferred.
Starling Date: as early as possible
