About the role
LTSM Chitukuko is looking for an intelligent, well-organised, experienced and trustworthy Senior Consultant and Country Manager, based in Lilongwe, to head our Southern African operations and oversee our growing interests in the region. The Senior Consultant and Country Manager will help us grow our business, ensure the highest standards of delivery and manage our local team.
Responsibilities
The position of Senior Consultant and Country Manager has the following responsibilities:
Consulting: technical input, building professional expertise, relationship management
Strategic planning: oversee and implement LTSM strategic business plan
Project management: oversight of all regional projects, contract management, risk management, procurement management
Business development: market research, partnership development, proposal development
Operations management: quality control, team management, resource planning.
Requirements & qualifications
Masters level education in agricultural sciences and natural resource management (NRM), with a strong preference for a science-based Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum 7 years of work experience in community-based natural resource management, water basin management, grant management and M&E
Proven ability in project management, business development, grant management, contract negotiation, monitoring & evaluation and team management
Proven ability to write high quality reports and bids in English.
Demonstrable interest in social entrepreneurship and gender in rural areas of Malawi.
Proficiency in software (MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite), project management tools (Asana, Insightly) and CRM tools (Netsuite).
Knowledge of programming language like Python is an asset.
Past relevant experience outside of Malawi is an asset.
