Main Responsibilities

Develop a communication strategy for the GHPP activities in Malawi Support PHIM in the production and dissemination of communications including newsletters, quarterly bulletins. annual reports, IHR updates, outbreak situation reports, etc
Support the Ministry of Heath to develop a mechanism for feedback to the districts/centres on reported surveillance data
Assist in maintaining the Public Health Institute of Malawi website , and updating content on the implementation of the International Health Regulations (2005), the Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program, strengthening of Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response strategy, public health event preparedness activities and others as required
Contribute to NCA communications related to the International Health Regulations (2005), the Global Health Preparedness Programme in Malawi, and other relevant health Initiatives

Contribute to routine multisectoral communication and sharing of information on public health events
Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants to be considered or this post should possess the following qualifications and experience

Minimum Education:

Degree in communications journalism, and preferably with experience from public health/ health communication or related fields
Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in communications, preferably with experience from public health/ health, communications or related fields.
Experience in building strong partnerships with venous institutions and stakeholders
Familiarity with technical knowledge of global health, statistics, and development is desirable.
Required Skills and Expertise:

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English with good verbal and whiten skills
Strong coordination and networking skills,
Knowledge of web and social media communication
Ability to communicate with respect, tact and diplomacy and work with interdisciplinary and multicultural team

Main Responsibilities

Support the finalization, dissemination and implementation of an action plan to strengthen the core capacities of the International Health Regulations (IHR 2005) through the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy.
Contribute to capacity building of the surveillance workforce at national and district levels to enhance IDSR/IHR implementation through the Frontline Field Epidemiology Twining (FETP) Program

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Applicants to be considered for this post should possess the following qualifications and experience

Minimum Education:

Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health or similar areas
Experience:

At least five years related experience, at the district or national level, in public health surveillance, outbreak investigation and response
Experience with the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response strategy is desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of disease surveillance system, epidemiology and/or public health practice
Experience in producing bulletins and reports
Previous experience working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and multiple actors in public health surveillance is desirable
Required Skills and Expertise:

Knowledge and experience in data analysis and interpretation
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge & experience in computer applications
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills_

SACCO Accountant

The Accountant will be reporting to the SACCO Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in preparation of annual. quarterly and monthly operational plans and budgets:
Check daily postings and transactions and verify cash on hand;
Monitor, evaluate and control loan disbursements and repayments to prevent defaults;
Conduct monthly Bank and General ledger reconciliations
Prepare monthly member deduction sheets in respect of loan repay meets and savings for submission to Mchikumbe SACCO Board of Management.
Maintain the cashbook and reconcile monthly statements. ledgers and member accounts;
Prepare matching and cash liquidity reports and monitor deposit maturities for both the SACCO and members:
Process loan applications based on sound lending principles in liaison with the SACCO Manager and Credit Committee;
Uphold internal control systems and statutory requirements and recommend improvements to the system;
Service SACCO Committee Meetings assigned by the SACCO Manager;
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board;
Prepare staff payrolls and compute tax returns
Facilitate annual audit activities and inspections; and.
Perform any other duties assigned by the SACCO Manager from time to time.
Qualifications and experience

Candidates must have either a Diploma or a Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institutions
At least 5 years’ experience for Diploma holders and 3 years’ experience for Degree holders preferably in a financial institution.
Excellent written and oral business communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer proficiency at least in Microsoft suite.
High degree of integrity.
