Press Trust is a Trust Fund governed by the Press Trust Reconstruction Act of 1995 and administered for the benefit of the people of Malawi, The Trust holds a diversified commercial investment portfolio in both listed and unlisted companies, The Trust has investments in banking and financial services, insurance, hospitality, diverse goods and services, telecommunications, manufacturing, agro-processing and real estate properties
The Trust funds diverse socio-economic development programmes throughout the country.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, has overall responsibility for the raisan d-etre of the Trust and is responsible for providing overall leadership, executive guidance and direction to ensure successful and sustainable attainment of the Trust’s corporate
Vsion and mission
Setting, Monitoring and Assessment of Department Performance Targets – assess, monitor and report on achievement of set departmental performance targets
Budgeting – Coordinate the development of the Trust’s budget and ensure adherence to the approved budget
Strategic Planning – Responsible for the preparation of strategic and annual plans in consultation with the heads of the various business units
Implement, Update and Monitor Operational Systems, Policies and Procedures of the Trust – Ensure that systems, policies and procedures that support the Trust’s operations are in place and reflect its needs and that they are adhered to
HR and Support Services - Ensure that the management structure, HR processes and staffing levels, and all support services are appropriate and effective to deliver the mandate of the Trust, Conduct periodic staff performance assessments
Secretarial Functions of the Trust – Act as Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Act as Spokesperson for the Trust, Manage all stakeholder communications
Requirements
Education
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Law or any relevant field,
Minimum experience 10 yrs experience in a management position,
